Currently...

reading Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me - by Mindy Kaling. I just started it and so far it's funny. I heard good things about this book and after watching her The Mindy Project, I told myself that I have to read her book.
writing my bills and goals for October
listening to the Saints @ Packers game... Well I'm watching yet listening more to the game as I browse around the internet.
thinking about my upcoming Sisterhood reunion this weekend. I seriously can not wait. It's been 13 years that we haven't been in the same room!!!
smelling chicken curry that I made. Yum.
wishing that this reunion week will be super fun. Fun memories.
hoping that all sisters and families will be here in California safe and sound for the weekend :) We got 2 babies coming along!!!
wearing A green t-shirt from last night, a worn out Pink sweat pants and my new pair of glasses.
loving that the Pillow reminded me why I was a nurse last night when we were having dinner at a Korean BBQ and I got called in... I was sad that we were having a great time spending time with each other (we only see each other in the weekends) and that possibly we won't see each other for another 2 weeks :( He said, "It's ok, Rima. Go and save a life!" And I did. We saved a 18 year old male's kidney from bleeding to death. Glad he did just fine.
wanting to eat something sweet right now... Like McDonald's Soft Ice Cream... Mmmm... I know Chimmy wants some too.
needing some time off to spend with Robert. It's been awhile.
feeling stuffy nose, throat kinda scratchy. warm with Chimmy laying next to me.

October's Goal

goals n schtuff
With September being a fast wind passing by and October knockin on the door tomorrow, I made my list for the Month of October. I was inspired to do this thanks to Melissa of Insert Sarcastic Remark Here, and glad that she's doing a link up of it. You Go GirlFriend.

But let's talk about my September goals.

1. Wake Up 10 Minutes early for work - honestly this was super hard for me. I did it for some days and the rest... I snoozed. I just srsly love my sleep. I can't deny it. The snooze button and me are BFFs. But I will definitely will work on this continuously.
2. Juicing for Dinner between Mon - Fri - I would consider this half done because I at least juiced for 3 days in a week after work. This for sure will be an on going goal because I actually like the effect of the juicing to my body. Now... If only I can wake up earlier and do it in the morning... Nah. Hahaha... But for sure I'll continue to juice. I'm actually doing green juicing and I love it.
3. Limit the Sugar Intake - Fail Miserably. I'm the queen of Starch aka Bread & Pastries so this was a major failure womp womp womp. I guess I must control the intake. Damn, look at that Hawaiian Roll.
4. Pray more often - This, I succeed. I prayed before bed and right after I wake up in the morning, I pray before I get out of my garage, I prayed before I walk out of my car (God, I hope today would be a great day at work), etc. Honestly, I love it. I used to not pray as often (due to laziness and probably taking God for granted) but then I came to realized that I only have one life and I must live as much as possible (que the term YOLO). I believe that if I include God in my life plans, things will be possible. This goal will continue on.
5. Purchase a decent pair of boots - which ended up being "Purchase a new designer bag". Hahaha... Boots will come. It will come. It HAS to come.

I would consider I accomplished 2/5. Sad. Hahahahaha... Now let's talk about October.

1. Do a Complete Health Exam - The Pillow and I agree to do this ASAP. I told him we should do it this month. I haven't had a complete health exam since 2009 (shame on me) and look at me, I'm a nurse. ha ha ha... I live the contradicting life. I tell people to go to the doctor, meanwhile I never go to the doctor. But I will for sure. Esp after dealing with a lot of Breast cancer patients and doing the Cancer walk, I think I should do a full on exam. Let's Go.
2. Get A New Tattoo - I've been debating on what to get and where to get it, but it looks like it's happening soon. Woo.
3. Make Pizza from Scratch - if you noticed lately (thru the blog and my instagram) I've been in a pizza mode. I've been buying pre-made dough from Vons and they were delicious. Now I'm inspired to make my own dough! I just love how I can put whatever I want on my pizza... and when you think it from breaking down the cost, waaaaayyy cheaper to make your own. Love it.
4. Yoga - 10 Day Challenge - I love Yoga. I've been doing it sparingly here and there. I took classes back in College. I used to do it religiously. I just don't know why I'm slacking. I always come up with reason to do a work-out (aka laziness). And after watching this video, I'm inspired to do it again. Oh and I'm not as flexible as this girl. She's like the shit. Hot Damn. I do have a routine that I have set up, and I'm gonna use the Zaggora Hot Pants while practicing. Haha... extra way to get rid of my flabby thighs.

5. Continue Juicing... Religiously - Like I said, I love the effect that juicing has given to my body, I just need to do it routinely. I currently do the green juicing which consist of: Green Apple, Cucumber, Spinach, Parsley & Romaine Lettuce. Sometimes I add Lemon, Carrots & Beets. It does taste nasty at first but then you'll get used to it.

So do you have goals for October?

Link's I Love Sunday

hah, it's been awhile for me to share some links that i love. i haven't been browsing a lot lately since i worked too much (where's the money, dammit!) and trying to spend as much time with the Pillow as possible since we're both busy and live far from each other...

So here we go (ole ole ole)

  • My first love of Sport is Soccer. I got this from the Pillow and glad that Soccer is growing in the US.
  • I just had a deja vu moment reading this article (wth...)... Anyways, I fell in love with Bikram Yoga a while back, but just too damn shitty lazy to do it. I tried Hot Vinyasa Yoga, I liked it but I still preferred Bikram. I think I should just quit my gym membership and just join Bikram again.
  • I'm really disgusted by this 14 year old girl. Shame on you, girl. Now you're going to waste your life in prison over an innocent baby.
  • hahahaha... gotta love animal photobombs!
  • I don't know what I'm reading, but this guy is sick. And the teenage girl is ... gah... should know better.
  • If you love Dogs as much as I do, this video will melt your cold heart.
Hahah as you can see I haven't browsed lately. I need to do more reading. Poo.

Friday's Letters

  • Dear Fatigue... Go away. You make my day miserable. If only I didn't work 5 days straight, you wouldn't be here and hanging out too long with me.
  • Dear Green Bay Packers. Monday's was total bullshit. We all know that. We all moved on and let's focus on Sunday's game against the Saints. Thank goodness of the real refs to be back in business
  • Dear "Call". I don't really like you but it's kinda okay if I do "see" you (que the cha-ching). Just please don't happen in the middle of the night. That's my resting time, you know. Day shift is okay because day shift people are more friendlier to me at the hospital. True Story. And they know my face.
  • Dear Southern California. Did you not get the memo that it's fall already? Why do you have to have a PMS heat wave in the next couple of days... SERIOUSLY 108 F in RANCHO CUCAMONGA ON MONDAY? You've got to be kidding me. Did Autumn not knock you in the penis and said that it's enough with the heat? C'mon now, dude. I want to wear my cardigans and boots, mkay.
  • Dear Chimmy, why did you have to vomit on the floor while I was chillin on the massaging chair? I had to end my session and wipe your crap. Thanks.
  • Dear Father. I'm glad that you personally asked the Pillow to translate you for your sermon tomorrow at church. To be honest, I'm so proud. It show signs of approval. Seeing the 2 important men in my life up on the podium preachin' the Word will be epic. I know people will tease me and the Pillow right after during the potluck. Oh Geez. Oh and please don't preach too long. My butt can't stand the hard seat.
  • Dear Pillow, I hope you don't get nervous and start mumbling weird English translation tomorrow for Father. I know you can do it.
  • Dear God, I pray for a miracle. Any kind of Miracle. I would really appreciate it.

So National Siblings Day is Not Today...

Sibling Disneyland Trip
But instead it's on April 10th. Instagram is going on a roll with hashtag nationalsiblingsday.

BUT IT DOESN'T MEAN I CAN'T TALK ABOUT MY BROTHER, RIGHT?

I have one brother, who's younger by 3 years & 8 months, name Austin.

Toba Lake, Sumatra, Indonesia, circa 1988

Aww look at cranky pants. He was one of the favorites in the Maternal Family because: One, look at those chubby cheeks. Two, he's very talented, musically (he got the musical talent from Maternal G-Ma. Give him a song, he'll listen to it once or twice, and BAM, he can play that sucker on the piano. He self thought himself the guitar, bass, & harmonica, and some other shit). Three, he's pretty funny since diaperhood. My G-Ma always tells funny stories of him when he was around 2-3 and when he gets mad, he'll go to my G-Pa's underwear drawer and get all of the underwear out, put it around his neck and stomp around the house, protesting. Then when he's done, he'll go back to the room and fold everything back and store it to its drawer. Legendary I tell you. Story never gets old. Four, he's smart. He self thought himself to read at the age of 3 by watching Sesame Street and his flippin thru his favorite book at the time, the Yellow Pages. Yes, the phone book Yellow Pages. Let the Fingers do the walking.

Fall Time, Circa 1989?
Bro & I, as we grew up together (and we still live under the same roof for the past 25 years), like your typical siblings, had our ups and downs. We get along, we don't get along. Pinching and slapping were common back in the growing ages. As we grew older, we still get along and maintain a pretty decent siblingship.

this was prolly my 8th bday. Not sure.
probably circa 1992
circa 1994

Honestly, we're not like those bro&sis that can just bond and talk for hours with each other, we're more like the independent siblings. We don't talk that much, and we bond more over music and food. We hardly hang out with each other because we're both busy (me with work and him part time working and finishing his masters). We probably only see each other everyday for a split seconds, just saying Hey. Yup. No bonding. No hugging. Just simple Hey.

Odd? Maybe... But that's how we both are. We're close but not that close. We grew up in a family that rarely says I Love Yous and not big on the touchy-feely department, so it's normal for us to just to say hey and go to our own separate ways.

Despite our weird cold brought up, for sure we both got each others back no matter what. I remember when I broke up with the Jerk Boyfriend, I was bawling in distress, Bro came up to me and just was there, giving me a hug. Sometimes I'll buy some random new food and give the whole thing to him so we can both critique about it.

Or once in a while we would pull pranks on each other. He'll do a snoopin from the corner of my room with the door slightly open until I realized that someone's staring at me. Or come in to my room quickly and farts -__-

bali, circa 1995?
Despite our lack of sibling affection, I knew deep down we love each other. We just don't really show it. We show it in a different way. Hard to explain, but it's there. I really want to do more Sibling Bonding time but it's difficult with me working full time and him being in school. Plus we both have our own lives and loved ones that we accommodate more than between the two of us.

Austin's Elementary Graduation, circa 98-99
my 25th bday
Taking him to Disneyland for his first time in 15 years
Yes, sometimes I envy those people who are close with their sisters or brothers (like my mother), yet I can't complain. I love my brother in a weird quirky way and I know he does love me too in a weird quirky way. We're a weird and quirky brother & sister.

Things we both love: Music, Manchester United, Target, Ross, Goodwill, LA Lakers, Friends and Food.

There's no other love like the love for a brother.  There's no other love like the love from a brother.  ~Terri Guillemets
Bro if you read this, you're awesome. I know we rarely talk despite our rooms are next door and we share the same connecting bathroom, but deep down we're both here for each other. I really hope one day you will start your own food truck because i want to contribute by being your #1 customer and eat all of the food. I hope you'll find that right woman. And for sure we need to do more Sibling Bonding Time. We're not getting younger and time is flying fast. I love you Man.

Fall oh Fall (and a call for Oct Sponsorz)

Well hello there.

Since it's officially fall season (THANK YOU MOTHER OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA FOR FINALLY COOLING DOWN), I'm super excited for Fall Shows.

Well let's start with this first. Ever since the awesome show called Friends ended, I believed (at the time) that no other show can replace Friends.

Come on... How epic are these people?

Friends will forever be in my heart (and in my DVD collection)

Well when I started dating the Pillow, he introduced me to How I Met Your Mother. I was behind 4-5 seasons, so I killed it quickly. And fell in love. How can you not love Barney aka Neil Patrick Harris... Oh and Marshall aka Jason Segel.

The show is pretty much Legend... wait for it... dary.

Then once upon a time I bumped in to gLee. Yes the show filled with losers who are extremely awesome. I cried at the end of season 3. Why did Finn & Rachel broke up, I will never know.

Then, being a fan of Zooey Deschanel and being a true nerd at heart, of course I fell for the New Girl. Some point in life, I wish I have 3 awesome roommates like Nick, Schmidt & Winston. C'mon, who does not love SCHMIDT. Watch the freakin show for Schmidt. He's character is just... hilarious.

I think every girl wants to have a BFF like Schmidt.

Other shows that I'm excited are of course, Modern Family. Who does not love Cam & Mitch... and of course Phil. Too bad I didn't have TV last year so I'm super behind on Modern Family, but I'm just gonna start watching starting this Fall season again.

Thank God for DVR now.

Another show that I can't wait, but won't be available til January is Girls on HBO. This show is brilliant. If you love Entourage, then you will love Girls. Seriously it makes me want to move to New York City.

Then of course, speaking of my other girls, 2 Broke Girls. I fell in love with that show the moment of the opening of the Pilot. Brilliant. And I believe everyone can't believe how ginormous Kat Dennings's Boobs. Amazeballs. She's sexy (in my opinion)

As for drama shows, I have no interest right now. At one point I watched some of the show Smash, but just couldn't keep up with it (primarily I didn't have tv). If anyone can spare me some ideas, maybe I will try to catch up on some good ones. I know... Grey's Anatomy is like legit, but I'm way too behind on that.

As of for new shows, I just watched the Pilot for The Mindy Project. I don't watch The Office, but from what I've heard she's funny. I want to download her book (doing it as we speak). And being the stalker that I am, once I'm done with this post, I'm gonna wikipedia her and pretend from there on that I'm BFFs with her.

Another show is Ben & Kate... It's cute. I love the little girl. And the connection between big brother & the sister is cute.

What shows are you excited for? Recommend me your favorites!!

OH AND YEA IT'S ALMOST OCTOBER!

FYI, there are spots for you bunnies out there who want to promote your blog/shop for the month of October on my humble blog. I'm doing swaps too and all are under Passionfruit.

For information about Sponsorship, click here. Since I love Fall, I'm doing a promo code for 50% (woopah). Use the code: FALLISHERE to get that 50% off yo.

Go tell your friends... Cuz I'm cool. Kidding.

so I decided to join the partay...

of Loving Lately...

I'm a True Legit Slacker and I've haven't done any link-ups lately. I don't know... for some time, I had some thinking that I'm doing link-ups to gain followers (and honestly, i love having new followers) and I wasn't being the blogger that I wanted to be (you know... just being me).

But then hey. I'm human, and I love want like attention (from time to time).

What I'm loving lately is HOMEMADE PIZZA.

I've been in a pizza mode for 1 week. Ever since I had the most amazing pizza (so far) from NYC, I've been wanting to have that piece of awesomeness in my mouth as soon as I thought about Artichoke Basille Pizza. So one day I recreated my own version of it and it turned out awesome.

So one day I went to Vons Market and asked a lady where's the pre-made pizza dough at. She went cray. She was like, "Oh Mija... There's one that mmmhmm we have here... Made from Vons... Mija!! It's soo good... You can smell it straight through the bag...  When you cut the bag... Mmmm Mija so delicious... *walks me to the aisle* See Mija it's this one... Smell!!! *shoves it to my face* Smells so good... Yummy, hah?" She super convinced me, I bought 2 bags right off the bat.

Lady did not lie.

Pizza turned out bomb dot com. They had 3 types: Traditional White, Wheat and Garlic & Herbs. I tried all three.

this one is Artichoke & Spinach Dip Pizza on Garlic & Herb dough
Marinara Sauce, Turkey Pepperoni, Spinach, Jalapeño, Pineapple, & Cheese on Traditional White
this was the left over pizza: Cheese, Marinara, Artichoke, Turkey Pepperoni, Pineapple & Jalapeño on Wheat
I was soo inspired on making pizza, I'm gonna start browsing for Pizza Dough recipes and Toppings.

Gosh miso excited.

word.

xoxo, Rima

Things I Love Monday, week 37 & 38

As I intensely watching Packers @ Seahawks, texting the Pillow thru out the game, and finished my homemade pizza (YUM! Any good dough recipes?), let me quickly recap my past 2 weeks. It's been a blur, to be honest.

Major 2 highlights:

thanks to papa Vino for this cute picture

mmm hello... Meet my baby "nephew" (my bff's son). You can read about it here.

And I did my second 5K for the year. YAY. Well it was more of a 5K walk/jog (ok... walk) with the Pillow. It was for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. I joined the Pillow with his company. Such an inspiring 5K. We walked with 13000+ friends, family and survivors affected by breast cancer. It's just... amazing. I dedicated my walk to my patients at work, but definitely to dedicated to Ms. Big & Brave Heart and Ms. Awesome.

be prepare for some photos.

I would love to do more 5K walks/runs in the future. I wonder if there's any for Lymphoma (my Opa passed away in 1998 for Lymphoma) and Vitiligo (for me!)

Well I hope you guys have a good week. I'm pissed at the outcome of the Packers & Seahawks. They call touchdown, I call bullshit. Even the 3 reporters on ESPN are still stunned. This is gonna be talked for a long time. Horrible. I'm reading all tweets for #mnf #nfl and LOL-ing. Gotta love funny people.

Let me cool off by washing my face and catch up on 2 Broke Girls.

Toodles.
