A quick Waddup.

Gosh, I can't focus on blogging this week because there are many things going on in what I call, uh, life.

  • prepping for the secret gift exchange
  • finding my costume for the gift exchange (check)
  • finally playing with fondant and prepping for a 36 pieces cupcake order for Saturday
  • paying my bills
  • sleeping late because the Pillow & I trying to catch up with our lives via texts & facetime
  • packing up and sending out stuffs for giveaways/swaps
  • dyeing my hair
  • catching up with my TV shows
  • watching what I eat and cutting out the carbs out of my diet (4 more days, people)
  • fixing my car that took $1000 out of me :(
other than that, I'm alive.

Hopefully I can resume to my normal blogging activities. Woot.

Things I Love Monday, week 47

Get get get... In Line and Settle Down.

You know where I'm going with this post, tee hee.

Well, let me just say that I had a great Thanksgiving. My family had our tradition: Having Thanksgiving Brunch at a local hotel. We haven't done this for probably 3 years (we've been going to grandma's), but this year, my family didn't wanna deal with the whole cooking and clean up (and not so needed left overs), plus 1/2 of our family is in Indonesia for my cousin's wedding, so we decided to bring back our old tradition. Food was BOMB. I actually cheated on my diet.

DIET? Yes. This girl here is on her Phase 1 of South Beach Diet (the NO CARB phase). Yes. I know what your mind is thinking. Diet on Thanksgiving Week. Yes. You know that I've been dying staring at all the carbs around me. OH and Yes. I did made dinner rolls on Friday night because I was bored. You don't know how much pain I gave to myself from baking. The smell of baked yeast was torture.

But so far so good. I lost almost 5 lbs. I'm pretty sure they're water weight, but still... Seeing the scale going down is nice. Oh what's nicer is that my jeans aren't so snug anymore. One good thing about this diet is it forces me to watch what I eat. It was hard the first 3 days, but right now I'm okay with snacking on nuts. I really can't wait til Sunday, because that's when I can start eating carbs... The GOOD carbs. I miss my fruits and oatmeal.

Other than that, it's been pretty dull because the Boyfriend is still overseas, but thanks to Facetime/Skype (as I said on my previous posts), I was able to sorta cure my longing for the Pillow... It's still rough because the time difference is so off and his lack of getting wi-fi... So communication is pretty scarce. Boo.

ANYWAYS, my HIGHLIGHT for Thanksgiving Weekend was: NO DOUBT.

Yes. The Band. Gwen Stefani and the Boys. One of my church friends score PIT tickets for their 7 nights Los Angeles Push & Shove Shows. We got opening night. I've seen them twice (once when they did they're tour prior to hiatus with Blink 182 and I flew to Utah by myself just to see them during their 2009 Summer Tour), but to see them THAT CLOSE was a whole different experience. It was amazing.

Yes, she was within reach.
The Amazing Gwen
The girl to the right there was next to us. Gwen stated at one point she got hot and needed someone to remove her jacket. This lucky girl WHO WAS NEXT TO US got chosen. Lucky @)(#*&.
Yes, Tony Kanal stared straight to us

All I can say is, HOT DAMN. The band maybe in their 40s, but they still rock like they're in their 20s. Gwen Stefani was just, WOW. Her abs. When she switched to her red outfit, all I did was stared at her abs. It was just like BAM in front of me. Such an inspiration.

Oh and of course, I recorded my favorite No Doubt song.

Oh on a not-so-happy note, I spent almost $1000 today... ON MY CAR! It needed major tune up and 4 new mother-freaking tires. Apparently one of them has metal showing. But thank God I did go in to the shop today... because I'll be in OC this weekend and have to go to LAX to pick up the Pillow. Who would've known what may happen at the time. Gah. #mustexcemptpaycheck

WHEN IS THE NEXT HOLIDAY? I wanna be off. haha.

My Thankful List

Uh the original post I did yesterday got accidentally deleted when I was adding stuff via my Blogger app on my phone. Lovely.

So I'm just gonna go quick, since I need to shower and get ready for my family's old Thanksgiving Traditional: Thanksgiving lunch at the Double Tree Hotel. Aw yea. No need to worry about cooking and leftovers. Good for my diet.

I thank:
  • God - for giving me a wonderful life.
  • My Family - My rock. Without them, I wouldn't be the person I am today.
  • Robert - even though I really wish you are here, boo, but I am grateful that you're spending this thanksgiving with people you deserve to be with, your family in Indo. I miss you, Pillow.
  • Chimichanga - for being the cutest fart machine.
  • My Cha-Cha Sisters - I am so thankful that we finally get together and had our reunion. It was amazing. Not only for us, but for our families as well. We need to do this annually :)
  • My extended family - of course, life would not be complete with all of their love and support.
  • My amazing co-workers - my other family not from home. I work with amazing people. We're a pretty tight knit group, so we are like family. I see them 5 days a week, more than I see Pillow during the week. The most awesome team ever. I do love my ER family, but a lot of them left this past year.
  • My work - even though we are so short staff right now, my crew & I manage to still get stuffs done. Most of the time, it's hard and stressful. I come home wanting to just pass out and sleep and never wake up. But I thank God for letting have this job. In the days where it's hard to find a job, I'm grateful I have a decent job where I can support myself and my family.
  • My Church Family - another family from another mother... well... Family of God. Still awesome and great to be part of this church family. We stick to each other for support and love. Amazing.
  • Honduras & New York City - the 2 places I visited, so far, this year. Memories were created, part of my life has been changed. Thanks to GMB UCSD Students for allowing me to be part of your team. Thanks to Gaby for being an awesome friend and trip partner for NYC. Super fun. Now let's plan for our next trip ;)
  • Coldplay - yes the band. Tons of their songs shaped up this year for me. Their Mylo Xyloto concert was one of the best concerts I've been to and it was one of the highlights for me & Rob. I can play all 5 albums of Coldplay on repeat and not be bored of it. Their lyrics & rhythms will always be part of me.
  • My Blog Readers - You guys are special. Thank you for reading and continuing to support this little humble blog of mine. I wouldn't have known that my blog would grow to where it is today, if it wasn't for every single one of you! Without this, I wouldn't be in the place where I am today (in blog land). Thank you thank you thank you!

Well I hope everyone will have a great Thanksgiving weekend. Still keep the spirit of thanks not only for one day/weekend, but for the rest of the year... Everyday. Give thanks.

Rima

Reminiscing Wednesday

I am stoked. This Saturday, I'll get to see another favorite band of mine... That involves this hot lady...

So I'm going to reminisce this week, all the songs of No Doubt. This would be my 3rd time watching them live. I even flew in to Utah just to watch them because I couldn't waited for the California date *dedication right thurr*

Here are some of my favs:

Uh C'mon... This is like the Ultimate No Doubt Song. This was one of the song that help me made the decision to break up with the Jerk Ex-(3rd)Boyfriend.
Now who doesn't want to have a fun spaghetti food fight?
uh, Major Girl Anthem.
Gotta love Adrian in Drag. And I just love the beat to this song.
The song came out perfect when I broke up with my first boyfriend aka Sister's Husband.
This song still hits home, because I'm in the current situation with Gwen in this song (all of my friends are getting married, married, pregnant or with child)
I performed this song during a Xmas Partay and it was a hit.
Uh this was Prom 2002. I danced to this with my date, who was the Brother of My Ex-(2nd) Boyfriend. Hahahaha... LONG STORY.
An oldie but goodie. Love the beat.

Well, I think the whole video set can be a good list, uh, during a work-out?

Anyways, I couldn't be more excited than now about No Doubt. The Best part is... Finally, I'll be in the Pit. Dream Come True.

Me, Myself & I

Aw yes. That time of the month for MM&I.

Let's get to it.

  • Love Actually - my ultimate Xmas movie
  • Bridget Jones Diary

  • The Holiday
  • Enchanted

2. It’s the month of giving thanks,
what are you most thankful for?
my family for sticking together thru thick and thin; my wonderful & amazing boyfriend for just being... him; and for having a decent job (even though I rather quit and go to Pastry School). I'm just thankful for the opportunity to live.

3. If there was a quote or verse to
describe your life, what would it be?
This is a quote that my boyfriend quoted to me when we were in our early stage of dating (at the time, I was sorta in a rush of, you know, getting more serious)

via

4. Who in your family are you most alike?
I have the patience of my father and the impatience of my mother... hahaha...

Things I Love Monday, week 46

This week was pretty... MEH. It's a pretty hard adjustment for me, being that Rob is not within driving distance. Yes, we do only see each other once a week (we live 50 miles away), so it should be easy right... to not see each other for 3 weeks? NOT. It's not easy especially our time difference is 16 hours. AND he doesn't have cell reception unless he turns it on (which activates International Roaming) or there's WIFI (which is rare at his current place).

I spent the weekend, literally, in bed. The whole Saturday, I just laid in bed, browsing. Made Indomie aka Ramen. It was actually Chimmy's birthday, so I just stared at him humping his bed *sigh* and just laughing at his silliness. I watched an episode of Sherlock. One more to go.

Oh I had the best sleep ever on Friday night. From 730PM - 730AM. Yes. Talk about a power nap turned in to a eternal beauty sleep!

Sunday, I actually started my random South Beach Diet Phase 1. You know... girl wants to look decent when boyfriend comes back home. As Melissa of Sarcastic Remarks said, "YOU'RE GOING ON A DIET DURING TURKEY WEEK?" Yes, my dear. Call me weird. But Thanksgiving will be an exception. FYI, SBD Phase 1 is only recommended for 2 weeks. This is where you cut ALL CARBS, including starchy veggies and fruits & juices. Yes, no FRUITS. Hence, it's only recommended for 2 weeks. Then you enter phase 2 where you introduce back into your diet the good carbs (oatmeal, brown rice, fruits, etc) and increase your fiber count. I've done this diet before while I was in Nursing School (where I should've gained weight due to stress) and lost 30 lbs. Well, since I've dated the Pillow, I've gained those 30 lbs, because Mother said I have the I-am-in-love-and-happy weight. Woo. I seriously don't really care about my weight, I'm happy where I'm at, but not too happy that I'm not fitting my clothes anymore and in need to shop for clothes. Now, when you're in need to shop for clothes (because of your weight gain) and you're on a crazy budget, something needs to be done. Hahah. Don't judge.

Anyway, I'm on day 2, and i'm grumpy as hell. I miss my breads.

I guess I would say my highlight of the week was Tuesday, when I watched Coldplay Live 2012 at a local theater (it was released for one day only on selected theaters). Sadly, I watched it alone. Coldplay is funner with Rob. But the movie was epic. Literally it felt like you were in the concert. It was like May 1st all over again. I left the theater with a huge ass smile.

I really want to just fast forward 2 weeks so I can be at LAX, holding a sign saying, "WELCOME HOME, PILLOW". I hate being apart.

Ramen with Hot Dog, Eggs & Sriracha Sauce. Very Indonesian.

it felt like Chris Martin was just singing to me. Yes, just me.
I received a care package from Melissa today, and it made my Monday. Bunny kisses to you, Mija.
This is a view of Shanghai. Courtesy of Robert
Melissa also gave me a bunny lego. I was in tears of joy. It's gonna be my night guard
The Birthday Boy who kept on laying next to me and farts.
I made like a SBD Phase 1 friendly dish. Involves Eggs, Spinach, & (turkey) bacon.
I just can't wait for Thanksgiving, where I allow myself to eat normally. NOMNOMNOM.

You still have time to join my giveaway!

Thank You. Sponsors. Giveaway.

Well Hello.

I can't believe around next week, Nov 25th, my blog turns 1. I can't believe around this time last year, I was debating to create a blog, for reals, and just post post post. My friends at the time encouraged me to do so because I love to post about my baking creation on my personal facebook and also write about Things I Love Monday, well, every Monday.

After some debates, I did it. And I'm glad that I did it. Looking back, the blog evolved into something that I didn't pictured it would be back then. Back then I thought it would be just filled with food pictures and my TiLM. Now it's filled with those too and other things... My opinions, my rants, my likes/dislikes... It's a place where I can share things to you, my readers, such as how smelly Chimmy's fart is (he just farted as I type).

Who would've thought that I have readers? I thought back then it would be just my personal friends and maybe some random strangers. Now I've become friends with some of my readers. I've met great ladies thru the blog-land. It's insane.

Who would've thought that I have sponsors? It's amazing how you can gain awesome friends and readers thru sponsorship/button swap? Amazeballs (in my world).

Well to share my happiness and thankfulness to all of you, I'm doing a Bolu Birthday Giveaway, with the help of my sponsors.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to my Furry Baby, Chimichanga aka Chimmy aka Boyem.

You are 5 years old now, Son. It means it's been 5 years of you barking, pooping and peeing on the carpet, constant silent farts, rolling around in grass, your classic play dead position, and fur all over my face and clothes.

I love you to pieces and I am glad that you love the Pillow as much as I do, or maybe a little more to him than me.

One thing that Mom ask is to stop barking. Seriously, you sound like a grouchy old man the older you get.

Sincerely,

Rima aka Chimmy's mom

Reminiscing Wednesday

As you may know, I'm a big Coldplay fan. So is Rob. Last night I got the opportunity to watch Coldplay's Live 2012 Documentary before the DVD comes out on the 19th. Sad thing was I watched it alone. It would've been great if Pillow was next to me. But then I purchased the DVD last minute before the movie started, thanks to Amazon.com. Crazy. With a touch of a button, the item is yours. Scary. Indeed.

This Mylo Xyloto Concert that we went was on May 1st of this year and it was one of the best concerts  I've been too. It was so fun and energetic. It's amazing how music can bring people together... From young ones to old ones, they all meshed up and sang their hearts out to their favorite song. And that was the vibe I had when I was in the theaters last night. It wasn't a full house (c'mon, on a random Tuesday night), but all the audience in the room were cheering and singing along like they were in the concert. I felt it too.

So for today, I want to reminisce on this great concert. And on how I miss Rob right now. This was one of the concerts I'll never forget.

I'm a HUGE fan of lights, so when Coldplay gave out their Xylo wristbands that twinkle through out the concerts, I was giddy. It was like being in a field of Fluorescent Fireflies. Amazing. Especially when they played Charlie Brown. The picture with the hat up there, was during Charlie Brown.

Do you like going to concerts? What's your most memorable concert that you've been to?
