She Loves Paris; He Loves Barcelona (Part 10 - the end)

Mini Series: 123

Who likes coming home from a fun vacation? Me. Not.

Well I do miss my bed though.

Anyways, on our last full day in Paris, we roamed around Luxembourg Garden (which was gloomy), and walked to a restaurant called La Rotonde in Montparnasse, which was known for their Steak Tartars. It was our goal to try Tartar before we leave. Yes. Raw meat, my friends. Rob was so impressed with the escargot he had at Chez Julien, he ordered some again. This time it was served the real way, which was confusing at first. I opted for the smoked salmon instead.

On the way back, we walked around and bumped in to the Pantheon. There was a protest going on, I'm not sure for what.

The following day was our official last day in Paris. We walked to Latin Quarter one more time and grabbed some croissants & coffee.

Of course what's Paris without Macarons?? So I got some Laduree in the airport. Our layover was in Montreal. I got some Maple Cookies (which were delish) for my co-workers. By the time we landed in LAX, reality sunk in and it was time for me to split with the Pillow. They call it the blues. It sucks. I was glad to see my Dad's face but I was utterly torn saying bye to Rob who was waiting for his shuttle.

Well, Barcelona and Paris will forever be a historical place for the both of us. We got to learn more about each other as a couple and of course, I got another promise ring. So far, it's been about 4 months, and the ring is still intact. Haha... Me and Tiffany & Co have had our ups and downs.

Next month, I will be flying to Switzerland to tag along with Rob while he's there for work. Can't wait.

à bientôt!

She loves Paris; He loves Barcelona (part 9)

Mini Series: 123

Ah Paris. I miss thee. I miss posing in front of a Metro sign.

I miss getting kisses in front of famous landmarks, like this one, Arc de Triomphe...

Posing in the middle of the road...

Or going to Le Bon Marche (where I got my Le Pliage by Longchamp) & Le Grand Epicerie (where we encounter a palm size Macaron!)

Or having a reunion with 2 old High School friends from Indonesia @ Chez Julien ... In mother-effin Paris! Where my friend, Jo, asked for ketchup for her fries and got a dirty look from the waitress... Where I finally met my HS BFF, whom I haven't seen for almost 7-8 yrs.

Where Notre Dame looked so nice at night time...

Where strolling down the road in Paris in the middle of the cold night with your Beau is so damn romantic...

oh Paris, I miss you.

bisous,
Rima

She loves Paris, He loves Barcelona (part 8)

Mini Series: 123

Today I share you my trip to the Versailles Palace (amazing) and a glimpse of Montmarte, including the infamous Moulin Rouge, Cafe des 2 Moulins (made famous by my favorite movie, Amelie) and the amazing Sacre Cœur. Enjoy :)

But let me start with this. Yes, Parisian McDonald's have Macarons. FREAKIN MACARONS. And they were GOOD.

The Palace is amazing. Too bad we didn't go to the other parts of the Palace. Maybe next time.

Of course I went nerdy when I walked in to the Cafe. I was star-strucked just sitting inside, eating my salad. The Pillow was like, "what's the fuss about?" until he walked in to the bathroom and saw the homage the cafe made for the movie. Then I was like, "durrrr... don't mess with mah movie"...

Sacre Cœer was a walking distance. It's such a artsy and beautiful part of Paris. Walking up hill to it was a pain in the ass. But once you're up there, you get an amazing view of Paris...

A bientôt,
