Reminiscing Wednesday

As you may know, I'm a big Coldplay fan. So is Rob. Last night I got the opportunity to watch Coldplay's Live 2012 Documentary before the DVD comes out on the 19th. Sad thing was I watched it alone. It would've been great if Pillow was next to me. But then I purchased the DVD last minute before the movie started, thanks to Amazon.com. Crazy. With a touch of a button, the item is yours. Scary. Indeed.

This Mylo Xyloto Concert that we went was on May 1st of this year and it was one of the best concerts  I've been too. It was so fun and energetic. It's amazing how music can bring people together... From young ones to old ones, they all meshed up and sang their hearts out to their favorite song. And that was the vibe I had when I was in the theaters last night. It wasn't a full house (c'mon, on a random Tuesday night), but all the audience in the room were cheering and singing along like they were in the concert. I felt it too.

So for today, I want to reminisce on this great concert. And on how I miss Rob right now. This was one of the concerts I'll never forget.

I'm a HUGE fan of lights, so when Coldplay gave out their Xylo wristbands that twinkle through out the concerts, I was giddy. It was like being in a field of Fluorescent Fireflies. Amazing. Especially when they played Charlie Brown. The picture with the hat up there, was during Charlie Brown.

Do you like going to concerts? What's your most memorable concert that you've been to?

Craft Time: from Paper to Canvas

YAY! I did my first DIY in years. This craft is brought to you by awesome minds of Elsie & Emma of A Beautiful Mess. If you're a blogger, I'm pretty sure you have these 2 Fine Ladies in your Bloglovin! Recently Elsie brought up this project again and I couldn't help it to do one myself. So happy I did. Seriously, go to their page, they have a Q & A regarding this project.

Warning: Your image will be reversed. So if you want to transfer, let say, pictures with words, you might want to "reverse" your image on Photoshop (Image > Image Rotation > Flip Canvas Horizontal), and then print it, that way your transfered image will be the same alignment as the original picture.

Things you need:
1. Obviously, A Beautiful Mess blog on board for guidance.
2. A Picture printed from a laser printer or copied from a Laser Copier on a piece of paper. Make sure the image is the same size or smaller than your Canvas.
3. A Paint Brush
4. A Canvas. For this project, I used a 4 x 4 canvas, which fits perfect for the Hiptagram image that I'll be using for this. Oh the possibilities to transfer Instagram pictures!
5. Gel Medium. Elsie uses Liquidex, which is what I used too. I got mine at Michael's (Painting Aisle) and it's about $13.99 for 8 oz. Get those 40% Off Coupons OUT!
6. Scissors, to (duh) trim your picture.
7. *not pictured* A Spray Bottle filled with Water

After trimming your picture and making sure it fits your canvas, brush a heavy coat of Gel Medium with your brush on to the canvas. If it gets on to your hands, it dries clear. And it's fun to peel off. Reminds me of the time in grade school where I put glue all over my palms so I can peel them. Oh what joy.

Place your picture on to the canvas. REMEMBER: Your image will be reversed. Let it dry completely... Hours or even over night. Since my canvas was so small, mine dried for about 2 hours.

Once your canvas is dry, spray it with the water and see it emerge. Haha, jk. If you're feeling hot, like the weather in California is now, you may spray your face too.

Now, rub the surface with your fingers, slowly but surely. This takes time. Your image will appear once the papers rub off. Patience, my dear.

Rub as much as you can without rubbing the image off.

Then layer the canvas with one coat of Gel Medium, let it dry, then you are DONE! Yaaaay!

My friends just came over and saw the canvas and they were like, "HOW DID YOU DO THAT?" And I gave them a live demo hahaha...

The first picture is one of my favorite picture of Rob & I. It was taken in Central Park, on our first NYC trip together, where it was blooming everywhere. I have some pretty blossom pictures that I would probably want to transfer! I just have to make a color copy of them! The second one is lyrics from our favorite Coldplay song, "Fix You". And I love lights. And Coldplay is my favorite band.

This project is super easy and fun. I can't wait to go bigger on the canvas :)

You Know I Love You So...

from here
As you may know, I have my undying love for Coldplay. Chris Martin is a genius. Thanks to spotify (which I encourage you to JOIN!), I can listen to ALL Coldplay's album from my iPhone. One of my favorite albums (ok all of them are my favorite) is the Live 2003 From Sydney. And of course Yellow is one of the top songs I love from that album. Just by listening to the song, you can feel the energy of Martin through his voice. Every time I hear it in my car, it puts a huge smile upon my face and it really makes my day better. Well on top of that of course, the lyrics of the song.

For 2012, both Rob & I selected "Yellow" as our song of the year (last year was "Fix You", this one is my personal favorite). So every time this song comes out, I remember my lovie, Rob.

Things I Love Monday, week 16 - 18

Huuuuuuh. This is the price I pay for slacking off. I abandoned my blog for a couple of weeks & now is catch up time! Hahahaha... My fault :(

Anyways, I can't believe it's May already. The year has gone by so fast it's not even funny! And sooo many things had happened in the past week, I'll just have to summarize it. Sorry guys :/

  • My photo shoot with A Sight of Love is posted in their blog. So excited to see them. I will post my favorites soon!
  • My lovely boyfriend got me lilies, just because. *swoon*
  • Baking Session with Abigail. She was soo happy that it made me happy!
  • I signed up for the Color Run in Sacramento. Yay!
  • I made Tom Yum soup on a cold day
  • I experimented and made cupcakes in a jar. Cute! But I don't think I like the idea of baking them in the jar. It took forever.
  • Received a letter from my sponsored child. That really made my day.
  • Finding out that I'm having a Nephew! Yay. I wish and pray for a safe and healthy pregnancy for my sister, Melissa.
  • Watched an Western Made Indonesian Movie, The Raid: Redemption. Not my kind of movie, but hell yea I'm damn proud of it. Really, really great quality.
  • Start watching "Mad Men". At one point, I told my boyfriend that we should start dressing like the 50s. Heck yeah.
  • I did my first Health presentation for my Church on HTN, Stroke & Heart Attacks. I'm surprised I survived public speaking! Eek!
  • Rob, Lina, Akira & I signed up for 5kFoamFest in the end of May. AWWWW YEAAAA.
  • One word: COLDPLAY. OMG OMG OMG. The best concert I've ever attended, EVER. It was magical, powerful, happy, neon-bright, fun-fest... I was really lost of words. Robert & I had the bestest time ever. Chris Martin is a brilliant. Genius. Twas really an eye-gasm. His energy was really contagious. Even until now I'm still Coldplay-high. Honestly, Coldplay plays a big part in my relationship with Rob. Only both of us could relate. Hee hee.
  • Twas nice to have a "weekend" in the middle of the week (I took Wednesday off, the day after the concert. Oh yeah)
  • Weekend getaway to San Diego. I visited my uber awesome cousin, Elaine, and her boyfriend (who's like totally AWESOME) and did a baking session at their house (and their house is AMAZING). I'm so glad I was able to share my passion of baking with them. Thanks again for your hospitality!
  • Watching "Super 8" in their super cool home theater.
  • Starting the join the "Fifty Shades of Grey" wagon.
  • I'm starting to like Cats, thanks to Tim & Elaine's cat trio (esp Monkey!)
  • Finally trying Hodad's in Ocean Beach. Wow. Amazing burger.
Pretty much that's the summary of my 3 weeks.
Now, pictorial time.
